Grace Mitchell

Graduate Fellow

Grace (she/her) is a gender, race, and sexuality historian with a passion for analyzing historical representation and revisionism in popular culture. She is finishing her History M.A. and starting her Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice Ph.D. this fall. Grace’s doctoral research will explore representations of gender, race, and sexuality in Western role-playing video games, focusing on how history and contemporary social justice movements shape player choices and lore. Prior to her graduate studies at UBC, she received her Honors History B.A. from Whitman College. While Grace is an avid PC and Xbox gamer, she also loves playing board games and tabletop role-playing games (such as Dungeons & Dragons).
