Dr. Nijdam Receives AMS UBC OER Champion Award

Dr. Elizabeth “Biz” Nijdam is among the recipients of this year’s AMS UBC OER Champion Award!

This year’s awards recognize faculty who champion equitable, inclusive, and innovative education, including those advancing affordable access through Open Educational Resources (OERs) and fostering inclusive learning through Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Please join her in celebrating this accomplishment at the upcoming AMS UBC Teaching and Learning Champions Gala! This event celebrates faculty, staff, and administrators who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to excellence in teaching and learning at UBC.

The Gala will take place on Tuesday, April 1st, from 6:30 – 9:30 PM in the Great Hall South on the 2nd floor of the AMS Nest.

In addition to recognizing the AMS UBC OER and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Champions, this event will honour and celebrate the awardees of the UBC OER Excellence and Impact Awards, faculty members whose dedication to open education has transformed the student learning experience. President Bacon and Provost Averill will also provide remarks on the importance of teaching and learning excellence at UBC and present the awards.
