Seeking Graphic Recorders for iSchool Community Learning Day 2025!

Calling all visual note takers, graphic facilitators, live illustrators, or sketch notes extraordinaries!

iSchool Community Learning Day 2025 will be hosting the Accessible Arts and Popular Culture Workshop: Non-Visual Engagements with Ainu Traditional Crafts and Japanese Popular Culture on 13 November 2025 from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm. The workshop will include a panel of information professionals from the GLAM sector sharing their knowledge before an activity portion involving a touch tour as well as a tactile art room.

We are seeking two graphic recorders (aka visual note takers, graphic facilitators, live illustrators, or sketch notes extraordinaries) to document our workshop activities, to create illuminating and informative image and text that showcase non-visual and accessible engagement with the arts and popular culture. Once complete, your work will be included in the Pop Culture Cluster’s Pop Pedagogies Archive. Together with the project lead, you will also create textual descriptions of your work to further their enjoyability for all members of the UBC community.

Love drawing, but haven’t done graphic recording before? We’re interested!

Reach out to the project lead, V. Rahbar by November 7 at vrahbar@student.ubc.com, to learn more.  Selected artists will receive between $150-$200 as compensation.
