Morgan Cselinacz

Community Fellow

With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Morgan Cselinacz also completed a Certificate in Computer Game Development during her undergraduate career, sparking her interest in the intersection between psychology and video game design. She earned her Masters of Arts in Digital Humanities from the University of Alberta where she focused on game studies. In her thesis she analyzed the hegemonic structures of video game design and began the development of an analytical framework to link player experience, designer intentions, and game narratives/mechanics – “ludo-emotional dissonance”. She has worked as a user experience researcher in the video game industry ever since, focusing on live service and multiplayer experiences, and working in the space between developer intentions and player experience. Morgan also continues to write analysis pieces on video game design and critical theory, as well as conduct interviews discussing the public phenomenon of video games.
