Dorothee Leesing is an Education Technology manager and media studies scholar whose work bridges digital learning, game studies, and the digital humanities. She integrates principles of play and emotional engagement into program and course design, creating innovative and inclusive learning environments. At the University of British Columbia, she is a sessional lecturer in the Master of Educational Technology program and the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice, and an affiliate of the Centre for Migration Studies. Her publications include articles in Crossings: Journal of Migration & Culture and Architecture and Culture, focusing on game tropes, spatial design, and the intersections of learning and gaming. Bringing together research and practice, she develops approaches that support collaboration, critical reflection, and creativity in digital education.
