Artist Bio:

A graduate of Capilano University’s IDEA program with a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication, Jeff works in comics and Illustrations. Visual storytelling has been his passion since childhood. Through his involvement in the Cloudscape Comics Society (a non-profit he founded) he’s had more than fifteen years of experience in project management, print production, publishing, and administration. He’s returned to the role of president at Cloudscape in 2021. He has managed the production of more than fifteen different printed graphic novels, many of which contain his own work.  He has also produced multiple books of his own work, most notably Teach English In Japan, which is based on his own experience teaching English in Japan for three years.

Understanding Through Comics: A Comics and Comics Studies Journal Club is a Strategic Equity & Anti-Racism (StEAR) Enhancement Fund-funded project that explores issues of equity and social justice through graphic narratives. We especially welcome folks new to comics with our meetings beginning with a brief comics literacy lesson, introducing how exactly one reads sequential art.
